| Belvedere Awarded Green Flag Status |
Belvedere has had a very active green committee for the past year consisting of students,the head of maintenance, a parent and a teacher.
They have made a huge effort to improve the use of recycling in the college and to eliminate litter.
Some of the many initiatives have been poster competitions, a small appliance recycling week, battery and mobile phone recycling, C.S.P.E. projects and Transition Year projects.
They invited in guest speakers and organised a big Spring Clean as a Day of Action.
In early May we got great news that Belvedere had been awarded its first green flag!
As our motto we have adopted "Be seen to be Green" as illustrated in the poster below designed by Andrew McGonigle.
It's all systems go with everyone making a huge effort to reduce litter and to recycle more. |
