Fogarty Award

The Fogarty Award for French was inaugurated in 1951 in honour of Mr. Bill Fogarty, a highly regarded teacher of French who taught for some forty years in Belvedere College.

It is awarded by competitive examination which comprises of an aural and written component. The top five candidates from this examination are then put forward for an oral examination.

The candidate that achieves the highest overall marks from the three examinations is then awarded the prize.
